Stole this idea from a_thari. :)

I have over 700 psd's saved, so I thought I could share the ones you want!
Just leave a comment with the icon(s).
Keep in mind, I don't have a psd for every single icon I've made, I can try to re-create the ones I haven't saved if you really want them, but I can't promise anything, alright? :)
I will update this post with the psd's.

Same way as always; first I crop the screencap to 300x300px, then I work on the icon until I'm happy with it, then I stamp the layers and sharpen, then I resize using image>>image size 100x100px. If necessary I sharpen more after this, using high pass and modify the opacity on the layer and mask away parts that are too sharp. :)

but but but, in the PSD file the background is already 100x100 and her face looks great!
ok, so... would it be possible for you to tell me the steps on this PSD?
1 - background, clear
2 - clear
3 - layer 2 is?
4 - layer 3 is?
5 - layer 4 is? looks like clipping mask, but not sure?
6 - curves clear
7 - layer 7 - some gradient?
8 - curves 2, clear
9 - layer 5?
10 - layer 6?
11 - the rest is clear

The reason I am asking is that I want to do this myself and see the effect. If I'm asking too much, don't bother:) Thank u!!!

3 - layer 2 is a stamped layer (ctrl+alt+shift+e) set to screen to brighten the icon
4 - layer 3 is a stamped layer set to soft light to add some contrast
5 - layer 4 is this light texture set to soft light to add some lighting/shadows
7 is a stamped layer where I used variations (image>>adjustments>>variations) click once on more red and once on lighter
the rest of the layers are invisible because I didn't like what they did (idk why I didn't just delete them)

thank you! and yeah, there is some magic happening here, because in my icon (I did everything like you said) the face details are not visible at all, I know that practice makes perfect but what is the sense of practice if you tried everything that works for others and does not work for u:)

I guess you just gotta find your own way if what others do doesn't work for you. :)

Ha, I know that you are very helpful and motivating, but I really tried everything, and now I lost all the motivation, how long can you try? Maybe I am just not good at it and that's the point. I did GOT Icon and it does not have face details, however, technically there isn't such an option.

and by sharpen u mean sharpen tool or sharpen filter that is in the PS?

I mean paint daubs, which is the way I always sharpen my icons. :)

Ok, it looks like some kind of magic happens here, because I followed all the steps and my face details are gonne, I cannot help the with high pass or sharpening unfortunately:( But thank you for ur help!
