Date: 2013-12-26 08:17 pm (UTC)The crops of #16, #17 and #20 are absolutely incredible - you work with close crops so wonderfully, and I love the vibrant, intense colours of #19 and #23 a lot. #23 in particular is just amzing, the lightning is so on point, the rich blues, magenta's and yellows with that slight green is such a wonderful combination, but the shadows are still strong and it gives such a perfect contrast!

Date: 2013-12-29 06:19 am (UTC)Firstly, I want to say thank you for doing a remake for me! I think it is super pretty, and I really love all the new and different colors your brought out in that cap! And the yellow light is so gorgeous, I have to say! The original icon had this interesting, mysterious complex composition which was, obviously, quite awesome, but I really love how you were able to maintain that quality but with only coloring + lighting at your disposal. It's really brilliant!
All of your remakes are quite brilliant actually! #3, 5, 9, and 10 are definitely my favorites. #3 is a really nifty way to integrate those textures that tumblr is making really popular into icon making. I love the artsy, scrapbook quality to it, tbh. It's really creative, and it still works so well thematically too. And #5 is just so well blended, well lit, and well colored. The whole thing just works together really well, and you get this foreboding, moody icon, I think. Wonderfully done! #9 though...I am just in awe of the coloring there. I don't even...how exactly does one make that kind of gorgeous rainbow?!? I...don't understand it, but I LOVE it. It's incredible! And then the grainy texturization in #10 just blows my mind; it is so awesome!
And then the other icons are beautiful too. I love the composition stuff in 14; the textures as well as the blocking are executed really well, imo. It's super pretty! And then you are, obviously, the icon maker to end all icon makers when it comes to Hannibal, and if #5 hadn't clued everyone in then 17 and 18 would because they are STUNNING. The cropping in 17 and then the coloring + texture use in 18 is just amazing. And then more rainbow coloring amazement for 19 as well, damn.
In short, I am such a fan (you know this), and this entry is beautiful! ♥

Date: 2014-01-06 10:46 pm (UTC)My favorites are 3 (totally snagging this. I adore the sepia color scheme + complex texture work. Just super gorgeous in every way), 4 (I love the coloring, the soft contrast, and the fact you see more details of it the more you look at it), 5 (perfect blend and grunge), 8 (incredible geometric look), 9 (OFC!! but you know this by now :D), 11 (very fascinating witht he blocking and the card symbols), 14!!! (what a wonderful and inspiring composition. I love how you used stock/scenery to block with. and the pale greens + sepia is a wonderful coloring too!), and 23 (I probably already praised this at elite_inspired but in case I didnät well the colors are just an explosion of AWESOME).
Fantastic post!! :)
